Smoke gets in the house

We have been suffering from wood smoke for the last 6 years. It is worst when the winds turn southerly as there are several neighbours with log burners along the terraced houses. The smoke gets inside the house and we have considered moving, but one doesn’t know if the situation is worse in other areas. I am following tweets from active campaigners but without government support there is not much one can do to improve the situation. We have noticed bleeds and sensitive linings of our noses. I sold our diesel car years ago thinking it gave me asthma when it is most likely the wood smoke that is to blame.
