A new US study links wood stove and fireplace use with increased lung cancer risk in women.
The US National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ “Papers of the Month” for September 2023 notes:
These findings are some of the first prospective evidence in the US demonstrating that even occasional exposure to indoor wood smoke is associated with a higher incidence of lung cancer, including among never smokers.
